Job Description:

The Annual Executive Committee and the General Body Meetings of the Consortium of National Law Universities were held today at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad under the Chairmanship of Prof. Faizan Mustafa. CLAT-2022 will be held on May 8, 2022. The Consortium has resolved that CLAT-2023 will be held on 18th December, 2022. Hence, in 2022 two CLAT examinations will be held in one year. The Consortium has also elected a new Executive Committee with Prof. Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur taking over as President from the Outgoing President Prof. Faizan Mustafa. Prof. Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur was elected as the Vice-President and Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan, ViceChancellor, Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur was elected as CLAT Convenor, 2022.
The Consortium further resolved to reduce the Counselling fee from 50,000/- to Rs.30,000/- for the General category candidates and Rs.20,000/- for ST/SC/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD and other reservation candidates. In order to fully protect the privacy of candidates, the Consortium resolved to secure the consent of candidates prior to sharing any personal information with any University or any other third party.

About Organization :

The Consortium of National Law Universities was established on 19th August, 2017 with the aim of improving the standard of legal education in the country and justice system through legal education with Prof. R. Venkata Rao, erstwhile Vice-Chancellor, NLSIU as President and Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor, NALSAR, as Vice-President. The Consortium aspires to facilitate better coordination amongst National Law Schools to achieve highest standards of legal education in the country. Twenty-One National Law Universities have joined the Consortium as founder members. The serving President of the Consortium is Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Jodhpur and Vice-President is Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, MNLU, Nagpur.
