The following posts are to be filled purely on temporary basis from willing eligible candidates for various projects implemented by this institute as detailed thereon.

Pay Scale:

Project Junior Medical Officer : Consolidated salary Rs.60,000/- p.m

Project Staff Nurse : Consolidated salary of Rs.31,500/-

Project Technical Officer : Consolidated salary of Rs.32,000/-

Project Assistant : Consolidated salary of Rs.31,000/-

Project Technician-III : Consolidated salary of Rs.18,000/-

Project Data Entry Operator Grade – B : Consolidated salary of Rs.18,000/-

Project Administrative Assistant : Consolidated salary Rs.32,000/- p.m

Age Limit:

Project Junior Medical Officer : Not exceeding 35 years.

Project Staff Nurse : Not exceeding 30 years

Project Technical Officer : Not exceeding 30 years

Project Assistant : Not exceeding 30 years

Project Technician-III : Not exceeding 30 years

Project Data Entry Operator Grade – B : Not exceeding 28 years

Project Administrative Assistant : Not exceeding 30 years

Education/Qualification:

Project Junior Medical Officer : MBBS from a recognized university

Project Staff Nurse : Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery (GNM) or equivalent and registered Nurse or ANM with any State Nursing Council.

Project Technical Officer : Graduate in Social Science/ social work/Sociology/Medical sociology /Psychology /Anthropology from a recognized university with five years work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s degree in science in the social work/Sociology/Medical sociology /Psychology/Anthropology.

Project Assistant : Graduate in Life Science from a recognized university with three years’ work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s degree in Life Science.

Project Technician-III : 12th Pass in science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or Diploma in Respiratory Therapy or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization in spirometry/respiratory therapy.

Project Data Entry Operator Grade – B : Intermediate or 12th pass in science stream from a recognized board with DOEACC ‘A’ level from a recognized institute and/or 2 years experience in EDP work in Government, Autonomous, PSU or any other recognized organization. A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour in English language through speed test on computer

Project Administrative Assistant : Graduate in any discipline with 5 years’ experience of administration /finance/accounts work.

About Organization :

ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis [Formerly Tuberculosis Research Centre (TRC)], a permanent Institute under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), is an internationally recognized Institution for Tuberculosis (TB) research. It is a Supranational Reference Laboratory and a WHO Collaborating Centre for TB Research and Training. Recently, an International Centre for Excellence in Research (ICER) in collaboration with NIH was established at the Centre. The Centre (formerly known as the Tuberculosis Chemotherapy Centre) was set up in Madras in 1956 as a 5-year project, under the joint auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Government of Tamil Nadu, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the British Medical Research Council (BMRC). The objective of the Centre was to develop studies designed to provide information on the mass domiciliary application of chemotherapy in the treatment of pulmonary TB. It started its activities with 8 international staff members belonging to the WHO and a team of national staff members drawn for ICMR and the Government of Tamil Nadu under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Wallace Fox of the BMRC.
