Duties & Responsibilities


Our esteemed global fintech investor is actively seeking a dynamic Lead Business Development Consultant with extensive expertise in payments and e-commerce. The primary objective of this role is to spearhead the expansion of their product offerings within the country and contribute to the achievement of overall business goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales prospects both locally in South Africa and on a global scale. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing existing merchants, meeting company expectations, and driving rapid and sustainable growth. They require a candidate with a strong working knowledge of Payments, Banking, and financial domains, along with at least five years of sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably in a similar capacity.


New lead generation (high velocity hunt),
Lead to sale conversation,
Pipeline forecasting in line with target (monthly, quarterly, yearly),
Upselling and geo expansion on current opportunities,
Expanding their market leading products & solutions,
Managing the entire sales life cycle from planning to tactical activities for revenue,
Understanding customers’ diverse & specific business needs and applying services /product knowledge to meet those needs, factoring in country-wise regulation,
Strategizing effective sales plans with leadership teams,
Achieving assigned sales quota in designated portfolio and meet assigned expectations for profitability,
Strong internal project management with key partners and close collaboration with cross-functional teams
Maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings,
Ensuring all internal portals are updated,
Ensuring open and transparent communication between yourself and leadership team.


Good working knowledge of Payments, Banking and Financial domain,
5+ year’s sales experience in Sales, ideally in similar B2B environment,
Strong high tier account management experience,
Experience in partnership lead,
Prove-track of negotiation skills,
Multi-currency, multi-country, multi- regulatory, multi-offering,
Cross Functional team experience (different time zones),
Experience in budget management, forecasting, pricing, account profitability review,
Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with all internal and external teams including sales, business development, marketing, and product management,
Salesforce experience,
