CNC Machinist

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join the Port Elizabeth team

· Set up CNC machines including loading materials, selecting appropriate tooling, and programming machining parameters.

· Operate CNC machines to fabricate parts to the required dimensions and tolerances.

· Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adjust machine settings as necessary.

· Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to program CNC machines.

· Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and other accessories required for machining operations.

· Develop and optimize CNC programs for efficiency and quality.

· Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

· Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.

· Identify and troubleshoot issues with machined parts or machine performance.

· Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

· Troubleshoot mechanical and technical problems with CNC machines and make necessary adjustments or repairs.

Requirements :

· Grade 12

· Technical qualification preferred,

· Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment

· Proficiency in operating CNC machines and programming using CAD/CAM software

· Strong knowledge of machining principles, including cutting speeds, feeds, and tool selection.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
