Duties & Responsibilities :
Key Performance Areas:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive stakeholder management and engagement programme.
1.1. In coordination with the Senior Manager of Marketing, Communications and Branding develop, drive and implement a Stakeholder Management Strategy and supporting processes and structures for SANBS
1.2. Develop a plan to continuously identify, analyse, prioritise, engage and monitor stakeholder activities
1.3. Manage the process of stakeholder mapping and the periodic review thereof
1.4. Develop and implement programmes to strengthen partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders through alignment with SANBS’ vision and strategic objectives.
1.5. Support the divisions to develop and implement divisional stakeholder management plans aligned to the SANBS strategic plan and the individual divisions’ business plans
1.6. Strengthen stakeholder interaction and alignment internally and externally and aftercare service.
1.7. Develop and implement a programme for ongoing surveys and analysis to assess stakeholder groups’ perceptions and needs and distribute intelligence gathered to relevant internal stakeholders.
1.8. Establish and manage the reporting for a CRM programme with stakeholders.
1.9. Improve public perceptions of SANBS through positive interaction with stakeholders and reporting on any adverse variables or ineffectiveness.
1.10. Establish and sustain business partnerships through a comprehensive operational business plan, i.e. Government Institutions, Big corporations in SA, Medical Aids, Universities and other Training & Teaching Facilities, etc.
1.11. Support internal SANBS stakeholders by lobbying for Government support at all levels to participate in public education and awareness programmes.
1.12. Attend stakeholder meetings with technical team members to ensure feedback of stakeholder responses
1.13. Managing and monitoring customer satisfaction surveys using the CRM system and ensuring accurate reporting on customer satisfaction levels and reports.
1.14. Designing guidelines and setting up appropriate systems for reporting.
1.15. Manage, update and maintain an electronic database of key stakeholders.
1.16. Develop metrics to assess the impact of the stakeholder management, engagement function and activities and monitor the effectiveness of the stakeholder management strategy and the implemented initiatives (including risks) and reflect this in the reporting structures
1.17. Develop a stakeholder management risk register and integrate it into the divisions’ register
1.18. Report monthly to the Senior Manager: Marketing, Communications and Branding on the departmental business scorecard.
2. Financial Management.
2.1. Develop and manage the stakeholder management budget in line with strategic objectives and manage allocated funds accordingly.
2.2. Monitor department cost centre reports monthly and initiate action where necessary.
2.3. Prepare department cost centre report monthly with an explanation of variances and corrective action taken.
2.4. Approve expenditure as per defined limits.
2.5. Do a formal presentation of financial data at relevant meetings.
2.6. Take timeous and appropriate action where sustainability could be compromised.
2.7. Adhere to applicable financial management, control and procurement policies
2.8. Submit monthly report to the Senior Manager: Marketing, Communications and Branding.
3. Establishing and effectively managing a stakeholder database.
3.1. Set up and maintain an integrated stakeholder database that is accessible to all potential users.
3.2. Set up a database that will provide a snapshot of the complete relationship with each stakeholder as a central resource to be used in managing all aspects of the stakeholder management programme.
3.3. To drive consistent, coordinated, informative and timely communication with stakeholders.
3.4. Collaborate with the Compliance and Ethics office on appropriate actions to support stakeholder perceptions
4. Project Management (Initiate, Perform, Manage and Report on Projects
4.1 Participate in projects that have a direct impact on the development of services or relations between SANBS and its stakeholders
4.2 Identify, initiate and participate in specific projects with internal and external stakeholders on a national and international level.
4.3 Develop project plans and gain approval.
4.4 Ensure that adequate resources are allocated to the project team within budget.
4.5 Manage allocated projects to ensure that agreed deadlines and completion of projects are met (includes the execution, monitoring and controlling of the projects).
4.6 Facilitate reportbacks and evaluate the outcomes to ensure that projects add value to SANBS.
5. People Management And Development.
5.1 Conduct ongoing performance management on all direct reports by monitoring performance on an ongoing basis through coaching, reviews according to agreed timeframes and taking appropriate steps to correct problems.
5.2 Track & drive individual development plans for all staff by identifying general training and staff development needs & ensuring staff attends organized training programmes.
5.3 Deal with conflict and disciplinary issues and take appropriate corrective actions by SANBS Policy on matters related to misconduct & incapacity (performance & ill-health), to improve productivity.
5.4 Build staff morale and motivate the team by ensuring regular two-way communication with staff on all general staff matters such as Principles of Excellence, team building, SOPs, policy changes, etc. through meetings with agendas & minutes.
5.5 Manage staff resources for the provision of adequate personnel for the cost-effective running of the department in accordance with the SANBS. Employment Equity strategy, targets and plans.

Education:
Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications Management or a related field
Code B driver’s licence
Experience:
3-5 years in marketing, communications, public relations, stakeholder relations or related fields, and or blood transfusion services experience at management level
