Applications are invited for filling up of the upcoming vacancies to the post of Director, one each, in National Institutes of Technology (NITs) located at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Jalandhar (Punjab), Kurukshetra (Haryana), Rourkela (Odisha), Surat (Gujarat), Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) and Mizoram. NITs are ‘Institutions of National Importance’ governed by the National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research (NITSER) Act, 2007 (29 of 2007).

Pay Scale:
The post carries a pay of Rs.2,10,000/- (Fixed) per month with Special Allowance of Rs.11,250/- and other usual allowances.
Age Limit:

Education/Qualification:
A visionary with proven leadership qualities, administrative capabilities as well as teaching and research credentials. Having Ph.D. degree with first class degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s level in Engineering / Technology. In case of candidates who have obtained Ph.D. directly after B.E. / B.Tech., they should have obtained 1st class at Bachelor’s level in Engineering / Technology.

The goal of the Department of School Education and Literacy is to “universalize education” and to create better citizens among the youth. For this, various new schemes and initiatives are started on a regular basis and more recently these schemes have started getting enrollment in schools. On the other hand, the Department of Higher Education is engaged in creating world class opportunities in higher education and research of the country so that Indian students do not lag behind on the international stage. For this purpose, the government has started several joint ventures and signed MoUs to provide the benefit of global votes to Indian students. The objectives of the Ministry will be as follows; Formulation of National Education Policy and to ensure its implementation in letter and spirit. Planned development including expanding access to educational institutions and improving quality in the entire country, including areas where access to education is not easy Paying special attention to disadvantaged groups such as the poor, women and minorities Providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships, loan subsidy etc. to the eligible students of disadvantaged sections of the society Encourage international cooperation in the field of education which includes working closely with UNESCO and foreign governments as well as universities to increase educational opportunities in the country.
