Job Description:

Applications are invited from candidates fulfilling the educational qualifications and other conditions to fill-up the vacancies of teaching staff during the Academic session 2021-2022. The appointment will be for a period of not more than 200 (two hundred) working days and not less than 7 (seven) working days or appointment of a selected candidate through Railway Recruitment Board or filling-up the vacancy though promotion of existing regular teaching staff whichever is earlier and subject to any other instruction issued from time to time. The appointment is purely on contract basis on a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration. The details of vacancies for contract appointment are as follows.

Primary Teacher (PRT) : 04

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) : 03

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) : 06

Pay Scale:

Primary Teacher (PRT) : Rs.21,250/

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) : Rs.26,250/-

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) : Rs.27500/-

Age Limit:

The candidate should be between the age of 18 and 65 years (as per KVS rules ) as on date of interview and selected candidate shall not be eligible to continue their contract services beyond 65 years.


Primary Teacher (PRT) :  Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) : Graduation (in the teaching subject) and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation (in the teaching subject) with at least 50% marks and one year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.) OR Graduation (in the teaching subject) with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.)

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) :  A. Two years’ Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc Course of ‘Regional college of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject; Or Master Degree from recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the following subjects:
(i) PGT (Hindi) – Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi as one of the subjects at Graduate level.
(ii)PGT (Physics) – Physics / Electronics/Applied Physics/ Nuclear Physics.
(iii)PGT (Chemistry) – Chemistry/ Bio.Chem.
(iv)PGT(Biology) – Botany/Zoology/ Life Sciences/Bio Sciences/ Genetics/ Micro Biology/ Bio Technology/Molecular Bio/Plant Physiology provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level.
(v) PGT (History) – History
vi. PGT (Sociology) – Sociology and
B. B.Ed. or equivalent degree from recognized university.
C. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English media.

About Organization :

The West Central Railway with its headquarters at Jabalpur comprises of Jabalpur and Bhopal divisions of erstwhile Central Railway and Kota division of erstwhile Western Railway. The formal gazette notification announcing the formation of this new zonal railway was issued on 4th July 2002 by the Ministry of Railway, Govt. of India. West Central Railway has two major marshalling yards at New Katni Jn. And Itarsi Jn. It also has three electric loco sheds at New Katni (having holding of 188 Locomotives), Itarsi ( with holding of 189 Locomotives), and Tuglakabad (holding of 227 Locomotives), with a total fleet of 604 electric locomotives (as on Jan. 2017) and two diesel loco sheds at New katni (having holding of 229 Locomotives), and Itarsi ( with holding of 170 Locomotives), with a total fleet of 399 diesel locomotives (as on Jan. 2017) to keep the traffic moving on its routes, To keep the fleet of nearly 1003 locomotives in good fettle all the time is a mammoth task and a challenge which is successfully met by this railway. In addition there is a Coach Rehabilitation Workshop at Bhopal and a Wagon Repair Workshop at Kota which are engaged in the activity of heavy repairs to passenger coaches and POH of goods wagons especially of oil tank wagons. Coach Rehabilitation Workshop, Bhopal has re-furbished Model rakes having state-of-the art features and passenger facilities/comforts for Mahamana Express (inaugurated on 22 Jan 2016). Prioritizing safety in operations, West Central Railway became the first zone of Indian Railways to eliminate all its unmanned level crossings by 31 Aug, 2015.
