Funza Lushaka Bursary for Aspiring Teachers
What is it?
The Funza Lushaka bursary supports students studying towards a BEd or PGCE at public universities to increase the number of qualified teachers.

Application period for 2024:

Opens: 1 October 2023

Closes: 12 January 2024

Learning materials

Monthly living allowance

Do you have to pay it back?
No. However, bursary recipients must teach in a public school for one year for every year of funding received. Recipients must be willing to work wherever assigned by the Provincial Education Department.
