Job Description:
As part of the apprenticeship, you will:
- Gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
- Be involved in the servicing, repair, and installation of electrical equipment.
- Perform maintenance tasks, including testing faulty equipment, identifying issues, troubleshooting, and replacing defective parts.
- Assist with new installations and upgrades of building electrical wiring and AC 3-phase motors.
- Occasionally carry out miscellaneous tasks under the guidance of the Electrician or Maintenance Team Leader.
- Adhere to quality standards, rules, and regulations.
- Participate in breakdown maintenance and assist with testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Utilize electrical testing tools and equipment.
- Provide honest reporting of incidents, near-misses, and safety hazards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 with a post-matric qualification (N3 Electrical).
- Basic understanding of the SANS 10142 wiring code.
- Awareness of Merseta apprenticeship requirements.
- Computer literacy.
- Basic knowledge of OHS Act.
- Strong report-writing skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Deadline-driven and able to manage tasks efficiently.
