Begin Your Au Pair Journey in the USA with Ease

AuPairCare has been dedicated to helping young individuals become au pairs in the United States. If you’re considering this exciting opportunity, here’s how you can embark on your au pairing journey.

Becoming an au pair is an ideal choice for those looking to experience a new culture, explore a different country, and seek opportunities beyond their homeland. For over 30 years, AuPairCare has been facilitating this experience for young people.

AuPairCare will assist you in finding a host family, arrange your flights to and from the U.S., and once you join as an au pair, you’ll receive a stipend, accommodations, meals, and time to bond with children, along with vacation days to discover America with your new friends.

To qualify as an au pair in the U.S., you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

Prior childcare experience
Availability for a 12-month commitment
Proficiency in English (don’t worry—your language skills will improve!)
Graduation from secondary school (high school) or an equivalent qualification
Age between 18 and 26 when your program begins
Good health with no criminal record
A valid driver’s license
Compliance with U.S. entry requirements
Make sure you check if you meet these qualifications before reaching out to AuPairCare for potential employment.

If you qualify, follow these steps to get started:

Register and log in to the Au Pair Room to begin your application. You’ll connect with an AuPairCare representative in your country who will guide you through the process.
Complete your Au Pair profile by uploading all necessary information, enabling host families to start interviewing you.
Participate in interviews with host families, and once a mutual match is made, you’ll be ready for your journey to the United States!
AuPairCare ensures that host families undergo thorough screenings and must pass a criminal background check. Families also agree to communicate in English at home, limit your work to 45 hours per week, and assign only childcare-related tasks.
