The US Embassy had closed its Embassy in Kyiv yesterday fearing retaliation by Moscow of the missile strike by Ukraine.

The United States Embassy has resumed its services in Ukraine’s Kyiv, a day after announcing its closure on Wednesday due to “reports of a potential imminent air attack”, US Ambassador Bridget A. Brink said on Thursday.
Brink urged the US nationals in the war-hit country to stay vigilant and remain sheltered in case of an air alert.
“@USEmbassyKyiv has resumed services following a temporary shelter-in-place suspension earlier today. We continue to encourage U.S. citizens to remain vigilant, monitor official Ukrainian sources for updates, and be prepared to shelter in place if an air alert is announced,” the US Ambassador posted on X.

Why Did US Announce Closure Of Embassy?
The US’ announcement on Wednesday to close its Embassy had come a day after Ukraine struck targets deep inside Russia using US-made ATACMS missiles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had acquired the power from the outgoing US President Joe Biden administration which had reportedly authorised the use of US-made long-range missiles into Russia.
Zelenskyy has been urging the Biden administration to ease the usage of US-supplied missiles in Russia.
In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin also reportedly okayed the revisions to the country’s nuclear doctrine.
Russia has already ramped up a wave of deadly missile strikes in recent days, targeting residential areas and Ukraine’s energy grid. Air alerts blare out across the country daily.
Ukraine Slams Western Allies For Embassy Closures
Ukraine on Wednesday asked its Western allies not to fuel tension inside the country, after various embassies announced they would shut down in Kyiv, citing an air attack threat.
Greece, Hungary, Italy, and Spain — all NATO members — had announced the closures of their diplomatic premises in the capital.
