Entry Requirements for University of Law’s Undergraduate Programs

The University of Law, a private institution in the UK, is dedicated to law degrees, legal training, and continuing education for aspiring barristers and solicitors. As the UK’s largest law school, it offers various pathways designed to help students succeed in their legal careers. Like many institutions, the University of Law has specific entry criteria for each program.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

The University of Law accepts a range of Level 3 qualifications, including A-Levels, BTEC, T-Levels, Access courses, and the International Baccalaureate. Here’s an overview of the programs and their requirements:

Law Programs (Foundation Year): 48 UCAS points from up to three A-Levels, GCSE English at Grade C/4, or two years of relevant work experience. Non-native English speakers need an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.

International Foundation Programme: Requires an IELTS score of 5.0 (with 4.5 minimum per component) for non-native speakers.

Accelerated LLB: A-Level ABB or BTEC DDM, with a UCAS Tariff of 128, IB score of 31, or equivalent. Non-native English speakers require an IELTS score of 7.0.

LLB Law: A-Level BBB, BTEC DDM, or UCAS Tariff of 120, with an IELTS score of 6.5 for non-native speakers.

Solicitor Apprenticeship: A-Level CCC, BTEC MMM, with 96 UCAS points. Non-native English speakers need an IELTS score of 6.5.

Paralegal Apprenticeship: Requires A-Level CDD, BTEC MMP, or 80 UCAS points, and IELTS 6.5 for non-native speakers.

MLaw (Solicitors’ Practice): A-Level ABB, BTEC DDM, with 128 UCAS points, and an IELTS score of 7.0.

Business Foundation Year: 32 UCAS points for one A-Level or 40 for two, with GCSE English (C/4) and Maths (D/4). IELTS 5.5 required for non-native speakers.

Criminology and Policing Foundation Year: 48 UCAS points, GCSE English at Grade C/4, and IELTS 6.0 for non-native speakers.

The University of Law understands that students may not always meet these exact criteria, so they will consider other achievements, including work experience and alternative grades, when reviewing applications. For students who don’t meet entry requirements, the university may offer admission to a foundation year program instead.
