Gain a World-Class Education at Curtin University
Curtin University has long been celebrated for its excellence in education, providing students with access to cutting-edge research and career-focused learning opportunities.
Founded in the early 1900s as Perth Technical School, Curtin has grown into a globally recognized institution. In 1987, it became Australia’s first University of Technology, continuing a tradition of educational innovation. Prior to this, it was known as the Western Australia Institute of Technology (WAIT), and in 1985, it pioneered efforts in equal opportunity, focusing on improving employment access for women, Indigenous Australians, and other underrepresented groups. This progressive mindset also led to the establishment of the Centre for Aboriginal Studies, a key part of the university’s commitment to reconciliation and inclusivity.
Curtin’s reputation extends beyond its inclusive policies. In recent years, it has been ranked among the top 1% of universities globally, as noted in the 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities. Additionally, 95% of its research has been recognized as meeting or exceeding world standards.
