How to Access Your NBT Results
Have you taken your NBT exam but aren’t sure how to check your results? We’ve got you covered! Here’s a simple guide to help you access your National Benchmark Test (NBT) results.
The NBTs are designed to assess your academic literacy, general knowledge, and mathematical skills, measuring your readiness for university. The test consists of two sections: Core Maths (MAT) and Academic Quantitative Literacy (AQL), both in a multiple-choice format with a three-hour duration. Your NBT results are valid for three years.
How to Access Your NBT Results:
You’ll be able to view your results around four weeks after you’ve written the test, typically available from 12 noon. Follow these steps to check them:
Visit the NBT website.
Navigate to the “Applicants” section, and a list of options will appear.
Select “NBT Results.”
Click on “Access Your Results.”
Then, click “Get My Results.”
Enter your ID number as your username.
Use the password you created during your NBT registration.
Hit “Login,” and your results will be displayed.
Alternative Way to Get Results:
You can also request your results by emailing nbt@uct.ac.za. This can be done four weeks after your test session.
Important Notes:
If there is an outstanding balance on your account because you haven’t paid for the NBTs, you won’t be able to access your results.
The institutions you’ve applied to will have first access to your results, usually three weeks after your test date, but only if you’ve given them permission to do so during the registration process.
If you agreed to share your results with them, they’ll automatically receive them.
If you face any difficulties while accessing your results, email nbt@uct.ac.za for assistance.
