How to Apply to Durban University of Technology (DUT) – 2024

Browse the 2024 Career Leaflets and Study Opportunities to find the course you want.

2. Apply via Central Applications Office (CAO)

All applications to DUT are submitted through the CAO system.

Complete the CAO online application form.

Attach certified copies of your ID document and Grade 12 certificate (or June/Trial results if final exams not yet written).

3. Application Deadline and Fees

Make sure your application reaches CAO before the closing date (varies by qualification).

Application fee:

R250 for South African citizens

R470 for international applicants

The fee covers all university applications submitted via CAO in the province.

Along with your application, submit:

Indemnity Form

Suretyship Form

M65 DUT Deposit Slip

Bank Details for Electronic Transfer

Admission Requirements at DUT
Programme Minimum Requirements
Higher Certificate National Senior Certificate (NSC) with rating 3 in English
Diploma Programmes NSC with rating 3 in English and rating 3 in four NSC 20-credit subjects
Bachelor’s Degree NSC with rating 3 in English and rating 4 in four NSC 20-credit designated subjects
