How to Cancel Your R370 SASSA Grant Application
The R370 grant is the sole financial assistance offered to unemployed individuals in South Africa. If you find that you no longer need the SRD grant payment, you have the option to cancel your R370 grant application.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) provides Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants to millions of financially vulnerable citizens across the country. Various reasons may prompt an applicant to withdraw from the R370 grant, such as no longer needing the assistance or failing to meet the eligibility requirements.
If you decide that you no longer require the grant, follow these steps to cancel your R370 application:
Step 1: Visit the official SASSA website and navigate to the “Cancel My Application” section.
Step 2: Enter Your Details: Input your ID number and the mobile number associated with your SRD grant application.
Step 3: Verify Your Identity: An SMS will be sent to you containing a 6-digit OTP (One-Time Pin) code. Enter this code to confirm your identity.
Step 4: Confirm Cancellation: Follow the prompts on the screen to finalize your decision to cancel your grant application.
To qualify for the R370 grant, applicants must be South African citizens, permanent residents, or holders of special permits. Additionally, they should not be receiving other forms of government support, such as Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) benefits or National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) bursaries. Furthermore, your bank account balance must be below R624.
