We are seeking an experienced and driven Contracts Manager (Business & Projects) to join our clients team in a senior role based in Richards Bay. This newly created role offers a career growth opportunity with potential business partnership and equity buy-in for the right candidate. The role will evolve from managing teams to overseeing sites and eventually transitioning into a marketing and business development role to drive company growth.

The Contracts Manager (AA/EE) will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects, ensuring timely execution within budget while maintaining quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, excellent planning ability, and a results-driven approach.
This role requires a candidate with a solid background in structural and mechanical construction and a strong local client base in Richards Bay and surrounding areas (advantageous). The candidate will also be responsible for expanding the company’s market reach, securing tenders, and improving the company’s BEE status.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee and manage teams for project execution.
• Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and meets company standards.
• Supervise projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships in Richards Bay and surrounding areas.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities to enhance the company’s market presence.
• Participate in tenders, vendor applications, and client negotiations.
• Ensure strategic growth of the company by leveraging BEE partnerships.
• Manage and allocate resources efficiently to optimize performance and profitability.
• Collaborate with site teams to resolve challenges and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and oversee project planning, scheduling, and reporting systems.
• Work closely with senior management to develop and execute business strategies.
• Transition into a marketing and sales role to secure new projects and partnerships.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (Advantageous but not essential).
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a contract management, site management, or business development role in structural or mechanical construction.
• Strong background in construction, mechanical, and structural projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing contracts and business growth.
• Experience in marketing and sales within the industry (advantageous).
• Strong local client base and knowledge of Richards Bay and surrounding areas (Advantageous).
• Ability to penetrate and develop new business opportunities.
