Job Description
Responsibilities:
Conduct site visits, surveys, and assessments to gather data and information for water and sanitation projects.
Develop detailed engineering designs and plans for water supply, wastewater treatment, and sanitation infrastructure.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for project implementation.
Coordinate and oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and specifications.
Work closely with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders to promote community participation and ensure project sustainability.
Monitor project progress, evaluate performance, and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
Implement quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and project delivery.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional registration as a Civil Engineer.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and sanitation engineering projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently with limited supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of local regulations, codes, and standards related to water and sanitation infrastructure.
Experience working in Bloemfontein or other South African municipalities is preferred.
