Mine Manager

Job Description

Responsibilities:

– Plan and oversee mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling
– Develop and implement strategies to optimize production and reduce costs
– Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies
– Manage a team of mine staff, including supervisors, engineers, and operators
– Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance and processing, to ensure smooth operations
– Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, such as government agencies and local communities
– Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports on production and financial performance
– Implement and oversee training programs for staff to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices
– Stay current on industry trends and technology to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Requirements:

– BTech Degree or Higher in Mining Engineering
– Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
– Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines
– 8 years experience in a hard rock mining environment
– 3 -5 years experience in a managerial role
– Proven track record of improving production efficiency and reducing costs
– Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
