Job Description

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
Supervise and oversee all aspects of the mining operation, including production, safety, maintenance, and budgeting
Manage all Production and Drill and Blast activities along with the Production Manager
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies
Manage and mentor a team of mining professionals, including engineers, supervisors, and operators
Monitor key performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement
Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, local community members, and corporate partners
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and service providers
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on operational performance and strategic initiatives

Requirements:

Grade 12
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior management roles in opencast mining
Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
Surface/Opencast Blasting Certificate
Proven track record of success in leading mining operations and achieving production targets
Strong technical knowledge of mining processes and equipment
Excellent leadership and communication skills

Benefits:

Salary: R2mil-R2.5mil per year
