Job Description
Responsibilities:
Compile comprehensive designs and requirements for solar, AC and DC systems, and medium voltage networks.
Utilize AutoCAD for array layouts, site layouts, SLDs, and plantroom designs.
Generate schedules including stringing schedules and cable schedules.
Produce materials lists for primary systems in collaboration with the technical director and office manager.
Conduct high-level project management and planning meetings with the technical director and MD on a weekly basis.
Manage client communication and relationships post-sales handover, providing regular updates on project progress, procurement timelines, installation schedules, and regulatory applications.
Provide technical input during the sales and quotation phase.
Perform site inspections and audits, and travel locally to meet with clients as necessary.
Collaborate with all departments to enhance internal processes and procedures.
Skills/Experience/Attributes:
5-10 years experience in electrical design within a construction and installation environment.
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (written and verbal).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel for designing layouts and schedules.
Good understanding of construction and installation projects and project lifecycle.
Experience in client-facing roles with strong communication skills.
Proactive project management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent organizational, documentation, and administrative skills.
Proficient in MS Office and cloud-based project management tools.
Professional, accountable, ethical, and adaptable to evolving company structures.
Qualifications/Certifications:
Minimum Matric qualification.
Completed electrical engineering qualification (B.Tech or B.Ing).
Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
Travel Requirements:
Some travel within South Africa and occasional stay-overs at project sites.
