Duties & Responsibilities :

NBI’s JET skilling programme will entail:

Setting up a governance structure to coordinate the private sector’s contribution.
Bringing an aligned view across private sector to ensure full buy-in.
Creating a fact base and conducting rigorous analytics to feed into the overall JET Skills Implementation Plan delivery.
Bringing the full resource base and capabilities of the private sector to the problem.
In support of its activities, the NBI is seeking a dedicated Senior Project Manager to drive execution of its mandate, by supporting project delivery, engagement with NBI’s corporate stakeholders and various partners, and consultation and working with government institutions.

Specifically, the Senior Project Manager’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Providing cross-functional project management support to the JET SP team to ensure appropriate planning, monitoring, and tracking of progress against deliverables and milestones.
Being the primary point of contact with core project partners to ensure cooperation and progress of the project.
Developing and implementing work plans across content development workstreams focused on the core value chains.
Coordinating cross-functional internal technical teams and expertise to support programme implementation.
Managing the planning, logistics and coordination of the JET SP governance structures, which includes Steering Committee, Advisory Committee and Working Groups, including preparation, scheduling, communications, minute-taking, documentation, and reports.
Driving regular and consistent stakeholder engagement and communication with key stakeholders, including private sector leadership, government, civil society, and labour.
Managing and participating in engagements with funding partners and preparing timely and accurate reports on expenditure.
Preparing and coordinating the annual calendar of internal and external communication and events with key individuals and organisations for the Programme, including leading the design and execution of key events. This will include events, dialogues, and roundtables.
Enabling and supporting the unlocking of opportunities and integration across programmatic units and projects within the NBI.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with private and public sectors in relation to climate change and skills development.
The role provides excellent exposure to leaders across public and business sectors. Domestic travel will be required.

Desired Experience & Qualification :

8-10 years’ experience managing complex programs with significant multi-stakeholder engagement components.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Social Science, Commerce, Economics, Development Studies.
A Post-Graduate university Degree is an added advantage.
Must be passionate and knowledgeable on the South African skilling, education, climate change and JET challenges and interventions.

Required Competencies

Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Experience leading a team to successful project delivery.
Excellent written and verbal strategic communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
