Continuous Improvement Specialist (Food Industry)

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

A leading client in the food industry is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join their team in Midrand. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about driving operational excellence in the food industry and possesses a knack for implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and quality

Minimum requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in science, Operations, or Industrial Engineering.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ERP systems, and operations software (SHOPWARE, SCADA, Visio, AutoCAD and SAP.)
4-5 years of lean manufacturing and implementation experience. (in the food industry)
Strong communication skills, including report writing.
Experience with BRC and ISO 9001 systems.
3 years of cross-functional project or program management experience.
2 years of exposure to world-class manufacturing processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation and utilization of SHOPWARE and SCADA as manufacturing tools.
Meet and exceed key performance indicators including OTIF%, ATP%, Downtime%, and MPS%.
Ensure full adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Create, implement, and refine department processes and standards to meet customer requirements.
Maintain and optimize Shopware reporting processes.
Drive efficiencies and cost reductions within the company.
Identify and address issues and non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans.
Ensure timely equipment maintenance and achieve efficiencies above 80% OEE.
Facilitate process improvement projects and training workshops.
Conduct advanced data analysis and develop budget/cost analysis for projects.
Lead value stream mapping exercises to define current and future state processes.
Conduct compliance audits and program evaluations.
