An opportunity for an experienced PLANT MAINTENANCE FITTER (MANUFACTURING) is required for permanent employment based in Pietermaritzburg.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform related Fitter maintenance tasks within a Manufacturing Plant environment.
• Perform diagnostic tasks and operation related tasks:
• Testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and fault finding.
• Including checking, measuring, and recording tasks to achieve results.
• Gears, motors, machine components etc
• Preventative and scheduled maintenance to ensure minimum downtime, breakdowns.
• Enhancing plant and equipment availability.
• Mechanical equipment parts inspections, repairs, replacements, and installations
• Proven ability to work apart of team and independently.
• Be available for shift work (week-end rotations) including standby duties.
• Physically fit, energetic, hard-working, and able to perform under pressure.
• Must be proactive, responsible, and reliable.
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Emotional intelligence and stability (required)

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Min 3-5 years’ exp. (Post trade test) within a plant maintenance environment of which (required).
• Fitter Trade Tested (Red Seal) +
• N4 – N6 in Mechanical Engineering +
• Exp. / Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards (adv).
• Driver’s licence (reliable transport).
• Computer literate.
• Team player.
• Traceable references with a clear criminal record
• Pietermaritzburg (local residency) required.
