Duties & Responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Other tasks as required by Management from time to time
Manage excess and obsolete inventory
Price change queries
Production queries related to BOM requirements
Monthly Reports for the Buying department – if required
Preparing doc packs for Finance to process Landed costs
Manage suppliers on time, in full
Assist in evaluation and prevention of excess and obsolete stock
Inform all relevant parties if delivery dates impact on production schedule or sales requirement
Expediting open orders according to demand requirements
Placing and maintaining Purchase Orders
Place orders for forecast and ad hoc requirements as and when required
Assist Procurement & Planning Manager with BOM costing as and when requested
Component and Service Order processing
Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels according to our planning software
Build relationships with approved suppliers
Other ad hoc procurement administration duties
Required to attend Supplier meetings
Resolve all queries on purchase orders with Receiving Dept and suppliers.
Branch Enquiries – Special Orders – Purchase Authority Process
Liaison with Planning Department any purchasing actions that may affect production
Assist Senior Buyer with expediting factory and branch shortages
Assist Senior Buyer with faulty stock and component returns to suppliers
Place purchase orders on local and foreign suppliers
Desired Experience & Qualification :
Essential Requirements
Understanding of electronic components
SAP Business One, LamaSoft Optimiza, Excel, PowerPoint
3+ year’s Purchasing experience
Must be able to put additional time in occasionally to ensure that the job is done
Valid driver’s licence
Trustworthy, strong work ethics and integrity
Decisive with excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to interact with people at all levels – telephonically, electronically and in person
Strong planning and organising ability with meticulous attention to detail
Be energetic and enthusiastic
Fully competent and accurate with numerical duties
Ability to work well under pressure
Have good interpersonal skills and excellent communication techniques
Knowledge of production processes/manufacturing principles
Excellent administrative skills
Must be computer literate – SAP experience beneficial
The successful individual should have at least 2 years of experience in either administrative functions, purchasing functions – preferably both
