St. Mary’s University Recognized for Teaching Excellence
Universities are dynamic institutions, and annual rankings evaluate them across multiple dimensions. Rankings not only reflect an institution’s growth and education quality but also offer both local and global comparisons. Recently, St Mary’s University achieved a significant milestone, climbing 16 spots in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023, securing its highest-ever position at 51st among 135 institutions.
This achievement builds on past successes; two years ago, St Mary’s topped the rankings in London for both course and teaching satisfaction in the Guardian University Guide 2020. This year’s ranking considers key indicators such as teaching quality, graduate outcomes, research impact, and student experience, highlighting St Mary’s upward move from 67th place last year.
St Mary’s Vice-Chancellor, Anthony McClaran, expressed pride in the recognition of the university community’s hard work and noted this as validation of the institution’s commitment to its staff and students. Similarly, Provost Prof. Symeon Dagkas emphasized the university’s heritage as a teaching institution, where students are guided by experts passionate about their fields, a support structure that fosters student success.
Currently, St Mary’s is home to 6,000 students, with 98% of its graduates confirmed to be employed, underscoring the university’s dedication to preparing students for meaningful careers.
