Follow this simple step-by-step guide to ensure a smooth application process:
Step 1: Choose Your Programme
Explore the wide range of courses offered at Stellenbosch University. Visit www.maties.com or browse the University Yearbook to find your ideal programme.
Step 2: Check Admission Requirements
Make sure you meet the minimum academic criteria for a bachelor’s degree and the specific requirements for your chosen course. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission due to high competition.
Minimum Requirements:
A UMALUSI-certified National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examinations Board (IEB) qualification.
At least 30% in a South African language of instruction (English or Afrikaans).
A minimum achievement rating of 4 (50–59%) in four 20-credit subjects.
To calculate your NSC average: Add your highest language score plus your five best 20-credit subjects (excluding Life Orientation), then divide by six.
International applicants should refer to SU’s conversion guidelines.
Step 3: Create Your SU Profile
Head to the Stellenbosch University online application portal and create your account.
Step 4: Complete the Online Application
Fill in all required fields carefully and accurately.
