Steps for Requesting a Credit Transfer at Wittenborg University
Transferring between universities is a common experience for many students, although it can present challenges, particularly concerning credit transfer. Fortunately, Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences allows students to receive credit for some of their previous coursework.
On November 11, 2022, Wittenborg University celebrated its 35th anniversary as a higher education institution, reflecting on its achievements and growth as a prominent establishment in the field of business education.
If you’re considering transferring due to the university’s esteemed reputation, there’s a process in place to help you gain exemptions for individual or multiple modules you’ve already completed. This process requires you to provide evidence of your previous learning, typically through certified awards, in the form of a portfolio.
For those holding non-Dutch certificates and diplomas, the university will verify the student portfolio using the Nuffic and Naric databases. It’s important to note that submissions will only be sent to Nuffic for certificate evaluation in exceptional circumstances.
When applying, you must request a credit transfer or exemption as part of your application process before beginning your studies at Wittenborg University. The eligibility for credit transfer will be determined based on credits earned from your previous accredited higher education institution.
The Student Registrar will check and verify the submitted diplomas and transcripts with Nuffic and ENIC-Naric to ensure that the documents are legitimate and accredited. They will then advise the GEB Credit Transfer and Exemptions Committee regarding your request for approval.
After this, several thorough procedures will take place until the Graduation and Examination Board informs you of the final decision regarding your credit transfer or exemptions.
