Training Courses at the Institute of Spring Technology
The Institute of Spring Technology (IST) provides training courses that are accessible to participants worldwide. If you’re considering a career in Spring Technology or operate a business that utilizes it, the IST could be a valuable resource for you.
As a leading center for spring technology, the IST offers guidance and support across all areas of the spring supply chain. It assists companies in designing and manufacturing safe, effective, and reliable springs through its comprehensive services, which include software solutions, failure analysis, problem-solving, testing services, professional training programs, and membership options.
Springs are integral components found in everything from everyday consumer goods to industrial machinery. The training courses, designed by spring experts at the IST, encompass various aspects of spring design, including materials, failure analysis, and industry terminology.
All training is conducted remotely, allowing participants from around the globe to join from their preferred environments. The IST also provides customized training solutions, enabling organizations and individuals to create a course tailored to their specific needs—ideal for those who may not wish to engage in the standard open training sessions or require a unique learning experience.
All courses are conducted in English and follow UK time zones.
To participate in the courses, you’ll need:
A laptop, PC, or tablet equipped with a microphone and camera for interactive discussions. While not mandatory, having these features enhances the learning experience by facilitating questions and group engagement.
A Zoom account for the online sessions.
For courses that focus on spring design using IST’s software, you will also require:
A PC with Windows 8 or higher to run the software.
SCP (Spring Calculator Professional) with the necessary module(s) for your course. If you don’t have SCP, a free trial is available on the IST website. If you own SCP but lack the required modules, you can contact the IST for temporary access to any missing components during your course.
Spring Technology encompasses both Information Technology and Engineering disciplines, and you can explore additional career opportunities in the broader engineering field through the Careers Portal.
