Transnet is offering an exciting opportunity for individuals to become Trainee Train Assistants. As a Trainee Train Assistant, you will be required to undergo module training and successfully complete the Train Assistant-Initial Course, along with practical training, to become a certified Train Assistant.
Key Responsibilities: Applicants must ensure that their application is submitted to HR before the closing date.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and/or Physical Science
- Willingness to successfully complete both theoretical and practical training for certification as an independent Train Assistant
- Prepared to undergo periodic medical surveillance and safety behavioral risk assessments during the selection process and every 12 months
- Physical requirements include hearing, vision, mental fitness (verified through medical tests and safety behavioral risk assessments)
- Must be at least 21 years old to undertake train driver or train control duties, per SANS 3000 (par 6.2.6.8)
- Minimum height of 1.6 meters
- Psychomotor abilities (to be assessed using the Vienna Testing System)
- Capable of carrying heavy objects
