Understanding Your R370 SASSA Grant Status
After submitting your SASSA SRD grant application, it’s important to check the status of your R370 grant to monitor its progress. Here’s a breakdown of what your R370 SRD status might indicate and what each status means.
Once you’ve applied for the R370 grant, you can check your application status with SASSA. The response you receive will reflect the current state of your application, as managed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). Here are the various statuses you may encounter during your SRD status check:
Possible R370 Application Statuses
Declined
If your application is marked as declined, SASSA will provide a reason for the rejection related to the period you applied for.
Approved
An “Approved” status means your application for the specified period has been accepted. Check the “payday” section on your profile for details about when you can expect your payment.
Application Complete
This status indicates that you have successfully finished the reapplication process. Moving forward, your application will be reviewed monthly, so you won’t need to apply again each month if approved.
Identity Verification Fixed
If your initial application was denied due to income issues and you appealed, you may see “Identity Verification Fixed.” This means your appeal was accepted, and any identity verification problems have been resolved. You’ll need to provide your banking details for SASSA to process your payment.
Reapplication Pending
This status means SASSA has not received a reapplication for the SRD grant. You’ll need to submit your R370 application through the SASSA website.
Identity Verification Failed
If you see this status, it indicates that SASSA couldn’t verify your details against the Department of Home Affairs data.
Incomplete Application Saved
You might encounter a message stating your application has been saved as incomplete. Missing key information can hinder your approval. Fortunately, SASSA allows you to withdraw your application at any time, enabling you to reapply with complete information.
Application Documents Outstanding
Receiving this status means that while your application has been processed, it’s incomplete due to missing documents. Expect further communication from SASSA regarding the necessary paperwork.
Bank Details Pending
If your status indicates “Bank Details Pending,” it means you’ve submitted your application but have not provided your banking information or chosen a payment method. You’ll need to upload your banking details to move forward.
Application Assessed
When you see “Application Assessed,” it means a SASSA official has captured your application, and it is now in the processing stage. The next status could be “Application captured – Waiting for Approval.”
Pending
A “Pending” status suggests that your R370 application has not yet been approved because SASSA is still verifying your details with third-party sources, including the Department of Home Affairs.
UIF Registered
This status indicates that SASSA has found you are either receiving or eligible for UIF benefits, suggesting that you might not qualify due to existing income.
Deceased Record On DHA
If you see this status, it means you are listed as deceased in the Department of Home Affairs database for the months being assessed for grant eligibility.
Debtor
A “Debtor” status means that although you received payment in the last cycle, an audit revealed that you were ineligible for the SRD grant, and you’ll need to repay those funds before you can apply again.
Active
This status shows that SASSA has received your application and will inform you of the outcome soon.
Self Exclusionary Response Found
If you receive this status after reapplying, it indicates that you need to submit an appeal.
IRP5 Registered
Seeing this status means that your information indicates you are a taxpayer, implying you have an income that may disqualify you from the grant.
Referred
If your application status is “Referred,” it means it has been randomly selected for internal verification and quality assurance checks.
Referred SAFPS
The “SAFPS” designation means that during verification, SASSA identified previous fraudulent activity linked to your application, based on a fraud risk assessment using your ID number and phone number.
Alternative Income Source
This status means you do not qualify for the SRD grant because your income exceeds R624 per month.
Existing SASSA Grant
If SASSA finds you are already receiving other grants, your application may be declined. The primary criterion is that you should not receive financial support from multiple government sources, including other grants or UIF.
NSFAS Registered
This indicates that SASSA has identified you as a beneficiary of the NSFAS program, receiving both a bursary and a monthly allowance during your studies.
Gov Payroll Registered
If your status shows “Gov Payroll Registered,” it means SASSA has found that you are employed by a government entity after checking your information against Home Affairs and SARS databases.
Age Out Of Range
An “Age Out Of Range” status signifies that you do not fall within the eligible age bracket of 18 to 60 years.
