What Is NSFAS Celbux, and How Does It Work?
In 2020, NSFAS announced that NSFAS beneficiaries would receive laptops to provide access to online learning, a necessity that arose during the Covid-19 pandemic. Students won’t need to pay for the laptop out of their own pockets; instead, their learning material allowance will cover the cost.
NSFAS provides a learning material allowance of R5,200 to students once a year. This allowance can be used for textbooks, devices, and other materials needed for their courses. The learning material allowance is often referred to as the book allowance.
However, it’s important to note that as a NSFAS beneficiary, you have a choice: you can opt not to receive a laptop and will still receive your full learning material allowance.
