Are you interested in applying for the R370 grant? Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the application process.

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, often referred to as the R370 grant because of its amount, is provided by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) to support unemployed individuals across the country. Approximately 10 million people benefit from this grant each month. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the R370 grant.

Eligibility for the SRD Grant

To qualify for the R370 grant, applicants must be aged between 18 and 59 and currently unemployed. It’s important to note that beneficiaries can receive other forms of government financial aid, such as NSFAS bursaries, UIF benefits, or additional Sassa grants. However, applications will be denied if the applicant’s income exceeds the threshold, which is currently set at R624. This income refers to the total funds in your bank account.
