Wrexham Glyndwr University: Recognized for Student Satisfaction
Wrexham Glyndwr University, situated in the largest town in North Wales, was officially designated as a university in 2008, becoming the tenth such institution in Wales. The Complete University Guide has recognized Glyndwr for its exceptional student satisfaction ratings, placing it at the top in both England and Wales.
Since achieving university status 14 years ago, Wrexham Glyndwr has continued to provide accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs, along with various professional courses. In the newly released 2023 rankings, the university was recognized for having the highest student satisfaction in England and Wales, trailing only the University of St Andrews for the top spot in the UK.
The university fosters a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive learning environment that seeks to inspire students, as noted by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Claire Taylor. Many students describe Wrexham Glyndwr as a home away from home, thanks to the personal connections they develop with faculty members who know them by name—a hallmark of the university’s approach to education that contributes to high satisfaction levels.
Wrexham Glyndwr University has also excelled in individual subject rankings, achieving first place for student satisfaction in the fields of Agriculture and Forestry, Nursing, and Sociology. Additionally, it ranked highest for Graduate Prospects in the Building category, covering programs such as Architectural Design Technology (HNC) and BSc (Hons) in Construction Management.
The Complete University Guide’s rankings are based on five key measures, including Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, and Graduate Prospects, evaluating a total of 150 universities, university colleges, and specialist higher education institutions. Notably, Glyndwr made an impressive leap of 68 places in the Education subject rankings for student satisfaction.
The university previously received similar accolades in The Guardian’s University Guide published in September 2021. Professor Taylor expressed the university’s delight in the Complete University Guide’s recognition of the positive experiences students have while studying at Wrexham Glyndwr.
