Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the mining and metals industry
– Provide comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes
– Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives
– Assist with financial planning and strategy development, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth
– Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying variances and trends for further investigation
– Support the development of business cases for major investment projects or acquisitions
– Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial processes are efficient and effective
– Stay informed of industry trends and changes that may impact the financial performance of the company
Skills and Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
– Professional qualification such as CIMA, CFA, or CA(SA)
– Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role within the mining and metals industry
– Strong understanding of financial processes and reporting specific to mining and metals companies
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely
– Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
– Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software programs
