Job Description
Responsibilities:
Ensure that tooling is serviced and set up to the correct specification, and available for
production with all necessary equipment and fittings in line with planning requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance on tool and dies.
Troubleshoot issues with tool and dies to ensure production needs are met.
Maintain and upgrade fixtures and gages.
Leads employees in good die maintenance and build practices.
Instructs in general machining practices.
Makes decisions and judgements about proper course of action for repairs and
maintenance.
Maintains good safety and housekeeping practices.
Demonstrates good short- and long-term decision making and trouble shooting skills, tool
room machining practices, safety, diagnosis of problems and course of action, and tool room repair
and maintenance work.
Responsible for providing and implementing process improvement ideas.
Promotes teamwork and shows a willingness to work well in other departments.
Demonstrates good work planning practices to do jobs in a very timely, efficient and safe
manner.
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution
of the company and the requirements of the Factory/position.
Qualifications:
– Toolmaker Trade test
– Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in plastic manufacturing.
– Proficient in reading technical drawings and blueprints
– Strong knowledge of materials used in toolmaking, such as metal and plastic
– Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and machinery
– Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Strong attention to detail and quality control
