Job Description
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement SHERQ policies, procedures, and practices in line with industry regulations and standards.
Provide guidance, support, and training to employees on SHERQ matters.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
Investigate incidents and accidents, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor and report on key SHERQ performance indicators.
Ensure the effective management of occupational health and safety programs.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and deliver SHERQ training programs to promote awareness and competence.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in SHERQ practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience as a SHERQ Officer or similar role, preferably in the Food Manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of relevant safety, health, environment, and quality regulations and standards.
Excellent understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
Experience in conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
Professional certifications in SHERQ, such as NEBOSH or SAMTRAC, are highly desirable.
