Expat Head of Environment, Safety & Health (ESH)

Job Description

Qualifications/Experience:

ND/BTech in Safety Management or related Environmental/Risk Management field.
Safety Certifications as required
Minimum of 10 years of management experience within Health & Safety in a mining underground environment.
Previous expat work experience, specifically in Africa, is essential.

Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate comprehensive safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the mine.
Ensure and assure SHE legal compliance to minimize pure risk, litigation exposure, and adverse publicity.
Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of safety and environmental policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety culture and minimize potential risks.
Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
Develop and deliver training programs to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
