Job Description
Responsibilities:
– Conducting data analysis/modeling to evaluate risk and assess the financial impact of insurance products
– Developing pricing models and strategies for various insurance policies and products
– Collaborating with underwriters, product managers/other stakeholders to optimise pricing and profitability
– Monitoring/evaluating performance of insurance products and;
– Recommending adjustments to pricing and underwriting guidelines
– Providing actuarial expertise and guidance on regulatory compliance and financial reporting requirements
– Contributing to the development and implementation of new insurance products and initiatives
– Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in actuarial science and general insurance
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science
– Degree in Mathematics as well as Actuarial Degree Preferred
– Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary designation (Fellow or Associate level) is preferred.
– 5+ years of experience in actuarial work within the general insurance industry
– Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, SAS, R)
– Knowledge of insurance pricing techniques, reserving methods, and regulatory requirements
– Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with teams
– Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
