Duties & Responsibilities :

Duties:

Prepare and conduct advanced level training for all levels of technical staff (e.g., Code testing and Trade Test Preparation).

• Implements technical skills development programs within the manufacturing business unit.

• Provides effective mentorship to all Apprentices, internal staff and provides career guidance to school learners.

• Implement special training programs and related projects such as new technology being utilised within the factory and within the specific business needs.

• Provides efficient quality services within the organization that is fair, valid, reliable and practical

• Provides continuous quality improvement of services and adherence to quality standards.

• Update apprentice/ learner training logbooks which includes theoretical and practical modules to record progress of trainees accurately as required by the SETA.

• Monitor and manage learner performance against the relevant criteria and ensures that the company achieves its training objectives.

Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS

• Red seal Welder

• N3 or N4 Mechanical

• Certificate as an Assessor or Moderator from an accredited body (Advantageous)

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 10 years post qualification experience in Welding in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment (working knowledge of Boilermaking will be an advantage)

• Minimum 5 years experience in supervisory and/or training capacity
