Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management accounts of the department and assisting the Finance Manager where needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the timely preparation and posting of journals, ensuring that the financial accounting transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger
Responsible for the timely preparation of the monthly reconciliations of balances between sub-systems and the general ledger
Responsible for the timely preparation of tax schedules
Responsible for the analysis and presentation of monthly performance (actual vs budget; key drivers of performance etc; year-on-year comparisons)
Quarterly
Responsible for the timely preparation of asset listings
Responsible for the timely preparation of quarterly regulatory information
Annual
Responsible for the timely preparation of annual regulatory information (SAM returns; NCA submissions etc)
Responsible for assisting with query resolutions from internal/external auditors
Responsible for assisting with the completion of the year-end disclosure packs
On-going
Effective collaboration with team members
Continuous liaison with, and support of, key internal and external stakeholders (tax; actuaries; group reporting; Balance Sheet Investment team; BU finance; banks; asset managers etc)
Continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes in line with senior management needs
Continuous improvement of risk management processes in line with good governance (regular updating of process documentation etc)
Active participation in team events
