Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

Key performance areas:


Plan and manage performance, skills development, succession and talent management and culture of team in order to improve performance and competence.

Enhanced Management accounts:

Coordinate the budget and projection preparation and manage the process in accordance with guidelines and assumptions from group
Manage and support report variance analysis
Analyse and assist decision-making in the business based on various business requirements
Support Business Controller in GP analytics
Support ad hoc reporting requirements from management

Operational management:

Manage the reporting systems for management, project or performance reporting and implement optimal processes to deliver management information according to the reporting cycle and ensure effective delivery of financial data

Financial Reporting:

Plan and apply relevant principles to accurately record, adjust and reconcile financial transactions and events.
Maintain appropriate supporting documentation according to financial accounting and reporting standards.
Manage and support the preparation of financial statements and interim reporting (if applicable)
Manage and coordinate the annual audit and be the key liaison with external auditors


Review tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax legislation and regulation; provide advice and solutions to business tax matters

Desired Experience & Qualification

The successful candidate must have:

Matric with a relevant 3 year financial degree / qualification
CA(SA), CIMA or an equivalent qualification would be advantageous
At least 3 -5 years relevant working experience in Supply Chain / Logistics
Previous experience in the Freight Industry will be advantageous
Must have experience with multiple currency experience (non-negotiable)
FX trading and International Group experience would be advantageous
Computer literate – (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have a high level of integrity, and be able to work under pressure
Must have and analytical approach to problem solving
