Financial Manager – Operations

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

Key performance areas:

Ensure compliance with Group Finance objectives, translating them into efficient operational business processes.
Coordinate timely and professional feedback to customers, maintaining effective communication with Group Finance.
Review internal controls, propose improvements, and regularly assess financial and operational risks.
Manage a small team, providing guidance, fostering collaboration, and identifying and developing talent.
Establish action plans for financial and risk management, consulting stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
Analyse financial information and propose solutions for business process improvements and project analysis requests.
Maintain and improve monthly management packs, evaluate reports, and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Review revenue calculation, cash flow forecasts, Capex budget, and conduct ad hoc financial modelling.
Interpret financial data, adjusting forecasts, aligning critical volume drivers, and reporting findings to stakeholders.
Develop and introduce processes, financial models, and measurable targets to achieve business objectives.

Desired Experience & Qualification

The successful candidate must have:

Matric with a B.Com Management Accounting Degree or relevant degree
Professional membership such as CIMA, SAIPA or similar will be advantageous
3 – 5 years relevant experience post articles, preferably within a production environment
1 – 2 years management experience
Financial and corporate governance knowledge would be advantageous
Proven understanding of interrelationship between financial and operational processes and strong modelling skills
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to maintain internal and external stakeholder relations
Strong financial modelling skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Computer literate – (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must have a valid driver’s license with own reliable transport
Must be willing to travel to different sites in the Western Cape
