Sustainability Analyst

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

Key performance areas:

Providing technical assistance to suppliers to ensure they meet the required standards
Assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data to track the effectiveness of sustainability efforts
Developing and implementing environmental standard requirements for suppliers
Implementing environmental legislation, policies and practices
Conducting environmental training in person and via online webinars
Reviewing and evaluating Environmental Self-Assurance Questionnaires to assess compliance of producers
Staying up-to-date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives, including international legislation where applicable
Collecting platform data, writing, and reviewing reports to documents progress and findings
Writing and compiling articles for various platforms, newsletters, etc.
Develop training manuals for various sustainable initiatives
Supporting general office administration and communication function
Implementing and overseeing digital recordkeeping systems effectively
Conduct on-site verifications and inspections on farm
Overseeing information on shared platforms, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data

Desired Experience & Qualification

The successful candidate must have:

Matric with a degree in Agriculture / post-graduate qualification in Data Management
2-3 years’ experience in Agriculture
Demonstrate an understanding of environmental conservation practices and environmental legislation to mitigate soil, water, biodiversity and pollution impact
Excellent computer literacy – (Word, Outlook and especially Excel)
Must be proficient in Excel, databases and data management systems
Experience with Agricultural digital tools and technologies such as Farm Management software, IoT devices and precision agriculture systems
Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage and analyse data
Must have the ability to communicate and address large groups effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have outstanding interpersonal skills, adaptable and continuous learning abilities
A valid driver’s license with own reliable transport
Must be willing to travel
