Electrical Design Engineer: Solar/ Renewable Energy

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

• – Design and engineer electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage
• – Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineers to ensure successful completion of projects
• – Conduct site visits to assess electrical requirements and develop plans for equipment layout and construction
• – Utilize software programs such as AutoCAD, for design and modelling purposes
• – Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes and standards
• – Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for clients and internal use
• – Support procurement activities by identifying and evaluating potential equipment options and suppliers

Desired Experience & Qualification

• – Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
• – Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in the renewable energy sector
• – Proficiency with AutoCAD,, and other relevant software programs
• – Experience in problem-solving, and analyzing complex engineering data
• – Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• – Ability to adapt to changes and a fast-paced work environment
• – Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings as needed

Package & Remuneration

R360 000 CTC – R720 000 CTC per annum
