Duties & Responsibilities :
A Financial company, based in Knysna, is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their company.
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited)
Processing of books on accounting software for clients
Liaison with clients and SARS
Maintaining correspondence files with clients
General filing and admin
General accounting functions including preparation of monthly management accounts
Submission of VAT and EMP returns
Processing of payroll monthly
Ensuring deadlines are adhered too
Assisting with tax admin
Requirements:
Matric with Accounting as subject
Relevant Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification
5 years experience in a bookkeeping role
Experience working in Sage; Xero or Pastel
Skills Required:
Very strong administration skills
Attention to detail
Analytical and solution driven, ability to take initiative, problem-solving skills
Deadline driven and able to work under pressure
Able to take initiative
Capable of working independently
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent command of English written and spoken (Afrikaans beneficial)
Practical experience in dealing with SARS
Computer literate, excellent skills required on software like Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Sage Accounting, Xero, Pastel and payroll software
Must be able to communicate directly with clients in a professional and confident manner
Management and review of junior staffs work
Good personal and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met (overtime may be required from time to time).
Sound understanding of Vat laws and regulations
Salary:
R15 000 Basic (Depending on experience)
