Duties & Responsibilities

We currently have a remote opportunity available for a talented Data Engineer on a permanent basis for one of our clients within the Natural Resources industry. Experience working with Mining related data, ETL, cloud platforms (preferably Azure), programming skills, and big data technologies, is essential.

This role will include travelling for work purposes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and processing systems that will be used to extract insights and analytics from our vast data sources.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes and data integration work flows for mining-related systems and data.
Collaborate with Data Scientist, Analysts and other stakeholders.
Ensure data quality and integrity, and implement effective data governance practices.
Work with cloud technologies, preferably Azure, to build scalable, fault-tolerant data processing systems.
Implement best practices for big data processing, storage, and analysis.
Develop and maintain documentation on data processes, infrastructure, and work flows.
Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or related role, with a focus on mining-related systems and data
Experience with ETL processes and tools.
Strong programming skills in at least one language (Python, R, C#, etc.).
Experience working with cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
Strong knowledge of big data processing, storage, and analysis technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
