Job Description
Responsibilities:
Conduct geological mapping and sampling to identify mineral deposits.
Analyze geological data, including drill core samples, and prepare geological reports.
Provide recommendations for mine planning, including ore extraction methods and pit designs.
Collaborate with mine engineers and other team members to optimize mineral extraction processes.
Conduct continuous monitoring of geological conditions and provide updates to mine management.
Implement and maintain safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in the development of exploration programs and strategies to identify new mineral reserves.
Stay current on industry trends and advancements in geological technology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Mine Geologist in the mining industry.
Strong knowledge of geological mapping, sampling techniques, and data analysis.
Experience with geological software and modeling tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Knowledge of South African mining regulations and compliance requirements.
