Assistant Occupational Hygienist

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Assist in conducting occupational hygiene assessments and inspections at mining sites to identify potential health hazards.
Support the development and implementation of control measures to mitigate exposure to occupational hazards.
Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of control measures and recommending improvements as necessary.
Provide assistance in conducting air sampling and monitoring of hazardous substances.
Assist in analyzing data and preparing reports on occupational hygiene findings.
Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement health and safety programs.

Requirements:

Grade 12
National Diploma in Environmental Heath
Occupational Hygiene Assistant Certificate – SAIOH
Environmental Control Certificate
2+ years of experience in occupational hygiene in the mining industry.
Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Valid driver’s license.
