Job Description
Responsibility :
Conduct regular inspections of underground mining areas to monitor and assess the stability of strata.
Collect and analyze data related to ground support systems, rock mass conditions, and other strata control factors.
Develop and implement strata control plans to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of mining operations.
Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and other mining personnel to optimize ground support design and implementation.
Provide training and guidance to mining personnel on strata control principles and best practices.
Monitor and review mining activities to ensure compliance with strata control procedures and regulations.
Investigate incidents and accidents related to strata control and implement corrective actions as required.
Maintain accurate records and reports on strata control activities and results.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree / BTech Degree in Rock Engineering
National Strata Control Operations Certificate – Chamber of Mines
National Rock Breaking Certificate / Blasting Certificate (Surface Mines)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in strata control or a similar role in the mining industry.
Knowledge of strata control principles, ground support systems, and rock mechanics.
Proficiency in using strata control software and geotechnical analysis tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
